Yes thats right, you CAN make money from blogging but first you must believe yourself that you can do it. To become successfully you must have the right mindset, it's no use just having a go and hoping that things will turn out how you want them to. I'm going to show you some simple techniques which will give you the confidence and drive to pursue your goals, not only with blogging but with any thing you wish to apply it to.
The first thing you must do is set yourself a target or several targets, for example I have set a target for 2 months time to get 500 uniques hits per day to my blog. Secondly you must think about how you are going to achieve the goals you have set yourself. My strategy is to keep my posting frequency to1 post per day, build links with other bloggers and try and improve my page rank through quality posts. To succeed at anything you must have a great self belief, theirs not much point in doing something if you don't think you will achieve your goals. There has been much research over the years into how people manage to achieve such feats and how successful people become successful. The conclusion which is most drawn is that successful people have an unbreakable self belief in themselves and they will continue to pursue their goals no-matter what!
Just to recap heres a quote from a book I am reading (The Code Book):
The only way to get to the top is to be a fool, because only fools keep trying. You have idea number 1, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 2, you get excited, and it flops. Then you have idea number 99, you get excited, and it flops. Only a fool would be excited by the 100th idea, but it might take 100 ideas before one really pays off. Unless you are foolish enough to be continually excited, you wont have the motivation, you won't have the energy to carry it through. God Rewards fools.

As I said earlier I am going to show you some simple techniques to increase your self belief which do work, and I can vouch for that from personal experience. The first thing you must do is set a goal, where you want to be in a month, a year or even in 5 years time, visualize yourself there and work out what you will need to do to achieve that. Remember that thought and hold it for a few moments, this is what you will use to help drive and motivate yourself during those times when you feel like its all getting too much. We all get like that some times but if you keep a clear vision of the future its easier to get back on track than it is to stumble along aimlessly!
Now this next part may sound silly and you may feel silly, but trust me it relay works! If you subconsciously think that you will fall at every hurdle even when consciously you think you can make it, subconsciously you will hold yourself back. But if you can change that subconscious around you WILL succeed!
Again, try and remember a time when you were creative, confident and had great belief in what you were doing, try and elect these emotions and say to yourself these phrases. Repeat them to yourself, remembering those confident and creative emotions and holding onto them. Spend about 5 minutes every day in a quiet place quoting this to yourself and reliving these confident and creative feelings. You can do this anytime but make sure you do it every day, that is the key, a little every day can make a bigger difference that all of that time put together!
- I am Creative
- I am Confident
- I am Successful
Be focused, and get into good habits, if you can put a small amount of time aside each day to devote to your blog and aim to get those tasks accomplished. Review your blog and stats (I highly Recommend the Counterize II plugin) and see what is attracting the most visitors and subtly tweak your popular posts, I will write a full article on this later. If you get writers block go and have a cup of tea and a slice of toast, or vice versa if you find yourself full of ideas draft several posts whilst the creativity is flowing!
And lastly if you are not getting results try and adapt for your audience, its much easier than trying to change your audience. Run through these techniques EVERY day, it will only take a couple of minutes and once you have subconsciously "Programed" your brain you may not realize the changes until you surprise yourself when you take a little time and look back!

Way to put it out there! You really have to focus in on what you want with the expectation that you can have it.
If it's about being a fool I can line up a few people to agree that I fit the bill…..

I was wondering if you saw an increase in viewers from posting at this time every day? How did it affect your stats?
From posting at the same time each day it looks like my stats have become more stable, there is more of a definite (slow) upwards visitor trend instead of the frequent highs and lows! I'm going to continue to post at this time (7.30 GMT) for another week and then turn the whole thing on it's head and post in the evening for 2 weeks and see what happens!
