Since starting this blog on the 3rd of May I have had a lot of fun and met some great people through many different blogg networks with MyBlogLog still being my favorite. Thanks everyone who has visited and joined in over the past month especially those who spotted my terrible grammar and told me about it !

Technorati Ranking's

After a few days of blogging i decided i needed something to work toward and realized that improving my Technorati ranking's would be a perfect project. At the start i was ranked about 150,000 or thereabouts and now I am currently at 37,223 this is mainly because of the success of Viralink and reading other peoples blogs it looks like this has worked well for them too! In the longer term after the googlebots eventually have a dance around my blog the effects if Viralink should largely contribute toward my Page-rank too.

Traffic

My traffic has improved greatly over the last month, starting at around 20 hits per day (14 unique) in the beginning and rising to a massive 450 (250 unique) hits per day at the end of the month. I am more than pleased with this as it is more than a 2000% increase, who would have thought so many people would come to a blog which was once compared to a messy corner of a computer shop!

Earnings - 3rd may till 3rd June

I wasn't to sure if i was going to publish what i had made form my blog for the first month but it seems that people like reading about what people have made online (including me) so I thought "what the hell, I'm going to publish them". Its not my main aim to make money from this blog at this moment in time but I am still following tips and tricks and implementing monetizing strategies, a big thank-you goes out to Courtney Tuttle who has some great monetizing and other usefull articles on his blog. So here goes, the first months earnings for Andy Coates Dot Com.

ADSENSE
I wasn't expecting much from AdSense but for my first month I am quite pleased, it seems like the average income each day has stayed the same but my traffic has increased. All month I have been experimenting with different ad types and positioning to see what works best. I may even switch over to Adbrite for a month and see how the two compare, that would be an interesting comparison! If I don't switch to Adbrite I am going to try and learn how to use the channels to try and get a better understanding about which ads are working and which aren't. Later in the month I noticed I had a AdSense video ad on my Derren Brown post which i expect was a good earner as it fitted perfectly with the post but has since been replaced by an advert for filling out surveys, I seem to get allot of these and I'm in two minds whether or not to filter the ads from helium.com as they don't fit with my blog very well.

KONTERA
I didn't start to use Kontera until the 13th of may and from day 1 this has been a steady earner, on average it has brought in about $0.45 per day with a sharp rise to over a dollar on the 17th, 18th and 23rd of may. These figures coincide with

I could try and analyze and speculate here why I earned more these on days but it doesn't really take to much to double my Kontera earnings for the day so im just putting it down to a good day! This month I have a Kontera experiment lined up, so keep checking back!

BUCKS4BANNERS
The bucks for banners banner isn't displayed on my blog but on my other website Euro Lottery Winner (which is a nice little residual earner!). But I got both referrals for bucks for banners through this blog so I'm counting it toward my blog earnings. So thats 2 x £10 referrals = £20 converted into the universal currency gives me $40! So that's the story so far, this month I really need to work on managing my bloggin time better and stop checking those stats, I must keep telling my self, "no matter how much you look at them you cant will them to change" lol.
