Over the past 5 days I have struggled to blog everyday and come up with fresh new Continent, I knew this would happen eventually and i guess i have doe well to get through two and a half months without this happening. So because I am an analytic person I have decided to analyze the past week to see why it has been a bit of a struggle.Initially
I put the bloggers-block down to lack of time, I still haven't managed to crack the 4 hour week and i spend about 1 hour a day writing a post, coming up with ideas and looking at other peoples blogs. The problem has been that since last friday I have had virtually no time to sit down and relax at my computer and come up with some fresh new content, just to give you an idea where my time went here was my week schedule:
- Friday: 10.00 till 22.00 > Prepare equipment for this weekends festival stage's.
- Saturday: 8.00 til 21.00 > Set up stage and mix sound for bands all day/night.
- Sunday: 9.oo till 01.00am > Mix sound all day, de-rig festival stage's.
- Monday: 10.00 till 20.00 > De-rig theater lighting rig for inspection.
- Tuesday: 10.oo till 19.00 > Assist with rig inspection.
- Wednesday: 10.00 till 21.00 > Re-rig theater lighting rig.
Today is my day off, as I work for myself I can have sporadic weeks like this were i will work intensely for a few days and then have maybe a week off. So firstly you can see from the above schedule that there was little time to focus on blogging for any given length of time. But looking deeper I think that the break in my sleep pattern has had more of a decremental impact. If you have read my post Sleep your way to success you will understand the importance of getting the correct amount of sleep at the right time.
Another contributing factor to my lack of blogging creativity this week could have also been diet. During weeks like this you sometimes struggle, or even forget to get something to eat, and when you do, all you have a chance to get is a pizza or a burger. As well as getting enough sleep is an important factor in how productive you are, so is diet and getting enough decent food (and liquid) for your body to function. I don't mean go diet mad and cut out everything bad, I just mean getting a little fruit and enough water and good carbs to help your body function properly. And finally, my last probable reason for my decline in blogging mojo over the past week could be attributed to lack of news and reading. Because of the hectic schedule I have struggled to read any newspapers, get to see as many bloggs as I would have liked etc (although the rss reader on my new phone has proved excellent!
How I am going to get my blogging Mojo back!
After analyzing the past week, it should be pretty simple to get those productive and creative juices flowing, all i have to do is restructure my sleeping pattern (started last night) by getting enough sleep and not oversleeping. Get some fresh air and exercise which i started this morning by getting up at 8.00 and going for a brisk walk.
I'm going to buy a book and read a chapter per day, I have to thank Stephen Welton Canadian entrepreneur for this one who finally inspired me to go and buy this particular book I keep picking up at the bookshop but putting back down!
I will eat and drink properly, porridge for breakfast (mmmm!) and plenty of liquid, I have quite a taste for green tea at the moment!
And finally, I need to tidy my desk, paperwork and clutter has accumulated over the past week which doesnt help me when I am trying to organize things in my mind aswell as on my desk!
I know that withiun a couple of days the blogging ideas and contnet will be back up to full speed and standard! Right, im off to do some work for mself and contune to do some work on my new house!
